March is here and our weather has been changing, but it is a good month for planting fruit bushes and trees with Daddy Pete’s Planting Mix. Here is a list of fruits to plant during the month of March and into April: apples, blackberries, blueberries, figs, grapes, nectarines, peaches, pears, plums, raspberries, and strawberries. Once you have planted these items using our Planting Mix, we suggest using Daddy Pete’s Composted Cow Manure as a mulch around the surface area of the plant. Where applicable, make sure you stay away from the trunk of the bush or tree approximately 12 inches all the way around it.

March is also a great month for planting greens and a few other vegetables in your raised bed or garden: collard greens, green peas, kale, lettuce, mustard greens, potatoes, radishes, spinach, and turnips. We suggest using Daddy Pete’s Potting Mix or Daddy Pete’s Raised Bed Mix for planting these items. We are still having some cool nights, so don’t forget to purchase Daddy Pete’s Roasted Sawdust for warm bedding for your livestock animals!
